When the boys discover that Principal Brown faked his diploma, he becomes paranoid that the two of them are going to reveal his secret and goes out of his way to try to keep them quiet.
While I do appreciate how the show is trying to give all of the characters a large role in an episode, I can’t help but feel that the students at Elmore Junior High are more interesting than the faculty. I suppose this is a catch-22, as the only way for the faculty to become more interesting is for them to get larger roles in episodes. I still don’t like Coach and I don’t know if I ever will, but Miss Simian had an episode this season that was very well done. This time, Principal Brown got a shot. I can’t say I knew a whole lot about Principal Brown prior to this episode. I mean, all I really knew is that he’s irresponsible and that he loves Miss Simian. This episode didn’t do much to change that narrative. After watching it, I can’t say that Principal Brown is a more interesting character, but I can say he is a funnier character. I was genuinely surprised that this episode made me laugh as much as it did. Mr. Small remains the funniest member of the faculty, but the script allowed Principal Brown to do some incredibly absurd things and his voice actor delivered the lines with flawless timing. The scene where he marched through the cafeteria saying contemporary slang words, only to get beat up by Mr. Small of all people, was one of the funniest things I’d seen all week.
